Unit 4

 Greetings All

Week has been okay I guess. Just feel a bit overwhelmed with everything around me but we keep going! I have nothing to share just going through a lot.

What I have learned in Study Unit 3 play, plays a very important role in the classroom.

Music play has his own contributes :

Singing and music play an important role in our culture. You'll find music present in many aspects of our lives: theater, television, movies, worship, holidays, celebrations, and government and military ceremonies. At home, music can become part of our family cultures—a natural part of our everyday experiences.

Music can give children a way to express themselves, to unleash their creativity, to be inspired and uplifted, to relax, and to relieve stress and tension. Just think about listening to a beautiful piece of classical music, singing along to a favorite song with friends, or dancing to a great song on the radio – music can make your heart sing!

In my opinion 

I think they felt a little bit uncomfortable because they all come from different cultures. It also seems some learners felt uncomfortable to dance IN front of others cause it might be a culture thing. It can also be some learners comes from poor background that they maybe have not experience getting a gift or what the value of a gift is .

What can I maybe do better in the near future:

1stly I need to find out what learners I work with in my classroom especially there background, values and believes. I will do my planning respecting all culture's in my classroom. I will involve them in deciding on a suitable song or have a discuss about the song I chose. that will also help getting them involve.

How to teach diversity:

• Get to Know Your Students. 
• Maintain Consistent Communication. 
• Acknowledge and Respect Every Student. 
• Practice Cultural Sensitivity.
• Incorporate Diversity in the Lesson Plan.
• Give Students Freedom and Flexibility.
